Werner Eclectic Supply sponsored the Werner Electric UP 50, Friday night at the Norway Speedway. The main event was cut 3 laps short of the finish due to a City of Norway Power Failure. Mike Reichenberger was the leader at the time, when it was determined well beyond a two hour wait past the 11th hour to call it a night.

Schultz Equipment Sales of Iron Mountain sponsored week 11 at the Norway Speedway. Ryan Hood stormed through the field to pass Brandon Reichenberger to win the Pepsi Late Modal A feature, while Ron Jenshak won the Bumper to Bumper Auto Value Super Stock A feature, John Martin won the DQ-Dog A, and Jim Stachowicz won his 6th slammer feature of the season.

Pepsi Cola of Iron Mountain Michigan presented the week 9 action at ASA Member track Norway Speedway Friday night, were Troy Nelson won his second consecutive Pepsi Late Model A feature. Bill Delfosse survived a Super Stock demolition to win his second Auto Value Bumper to Bumper super Stock A feature. Jim Stanchina drove off with the DQ-Dog Four cylinder A feature, and Jim Stachowicz won his 5th Slammer feature.

Jay Baumler and Scott Stanchina led the Pepsi Late Model A feature to the green flag. Jay Baumler quickly made his way by taking the lead. Ryan Hood moved by Stanchina to take the second position, but Jay Baumler had checked out from the field. Baumler looked to be on his way to an easy victory until a late caution let the field catch up to him. Last weeks feature winner Troy Nelson moved to the outside on the restart. When the race restarted with 15 laps to go, Nelson fired by on the outside of Baumler taking the lead on lap 21 and never looked back. 1. #19 Troy Nelson 2. #76 Jay Baumler 3. #1 Mike Reichenberger 4. The Mid-American Stock Car Series highlighted the week 7 action at the the ASA sanctioned Norway Speedway in front of a packed house, as Lyle Novak of Wausau WI captured the “EH” Main event for the Midam series, while Dalton Zehr held off Troy Nelson to win the Pepsi Late Model A - and Mark Jenshak won his first Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Stock Feature.

NORWAY, Mich. (June 26, 2009) – No one, no way, no how. Lyle Nowak could not be denied a win in the ‘Eh’ Main at Norway Speedway on Friday night as the Mid-American Stock Car Series made its return to the 1/3-mile oval in almost 15 years. Bill Prietzel and Mike Beyer made several valiant efforts throughout the 40-lap feature event, but were unable to keep Nowak from making his first trip to victory lane in 2009.

Nowak snatched the lead on the outside from Nick Crawford at the drop of the green, but was unable to build any real estate between himself and the rest of the field. On lap nine, Crawford was close enough to tap Nowak on the rear bumper. Nowak held the lead as Crawford slid up the race track, allowing Beyer to slide into second.

Until a caution for a spin on lap 21, Beyer took several looks, but was unable to find enough space to make his move on Nowak.

The game changed again when Prietzel moved his machine into third on lap 23. Two laps later Matt Pyburn stalled on the front straight while running fifth, setting Prietzel on the outside of the second row for the restart on lap 25.

Humid temperatures, threatening sky’s a little color lightning and two divisions of competitors could not stop the Stanchina’s on Friday Night as Scott Stanchina ran away with the Pepsi Late Model A feature for his second win of the season. And Cousin Mike Stanchina persevered through numerous restarts to win his first Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Stock A feature.

Dillon Kralovetz won fast time in the Pepsi Late Model division for the second consecutive week with a time of 14.951 seconds, an average just over 80mph, and Ron Jenshak reclaimed his perch winning Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Stock fast time for the 5th time in 6 weeks, with a time of 16.310. Cody Skog clocked in at 18.8 seconds to win DQ-Dog Qualifying.

Troy Nelson took the lead from Jay Baumler with two laps remaining to win the Pepsi Late Model fast dash, while Mark Jenshak held off Mark Bubloni to win the Super Stock dash.

Pepsi Late Model heat winners were Putch Bently, Gene Coleman, and Matt Frazer, while Wes Thompson and Bill Delfosse claimed the Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Stock heat races.

Sick Air Highlighted the night at ASA Sanctioned Norway Speedway, but it was Craig Schei in the Pepsi Late Model Division, and Marcus Bubloni in the Auto Value Super Stock division driving away from the competition to claim their main events. Gerald Dugree jr, and Jim Stachowicz also won the A mains in the DQ-dog division and slammer division.

Dillon Kralovets claimed top honors in qualifying for the Pepsi Late Models with a time of 14.884 an average of 80.643 mph, and for the first time of the year somebody besides Ron Jenshak was top qualifier in the Auto Value Super Stock division, as Bill Delfosse timed in the fastest with a time of 16.537 an average time of 72 mph.

Dalton Zehr held off Mike Reichenberger to win the Pepsi Late Model fast dash, while Jason Blohm got his first win of the year holding off Bill Delfosse to win the Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super stock dash. Jonathan Pepin held of four cylinder rookie Joey Knutson to win the DQ-Dog dash.

Rain, chilling temperatures, 100 laps, droves of lap cars, could not keep Ross Kenseth from claiming the 2009 Drive Line 100. 40 competitors attempted to qualify for the 20 positions in the pay per lap event, where each competitor would receive $7.50 per lap completed, plus be paid $25 for every position gained at the end of the race, plus an additional $20 per lap led, and a $100 bonus for leading laps 1, 10, 20, 30 and so on.

On Saturday Mike Gardner sped to fast time 14.555 an average speed of 82.468 mph. The rains came shortly after LM qualifying completed Saturday, after a short wait, it was decided the Drive Line 100 would take place on Sunday afternoon. Shortly after 1pm the Late Model dash took the green flag with Dalton Zehr doing his best to rub Jaime Iverson away, but it was Jamie Iverson who beat Zehr to the line by .002 of a second to claim the trophy dash!

The Drive Line 100 is this weeks big event at Norway Michigan’s ASA sanctioned race track. This will be the second such event in the speedways history. It is a pay for lap event where most drivers will make the same amount of money for the 100 laps they run.

This year Fran Prestey co- owner of Five Star Stock Car Bodies has some new twists to the race as it was from last year. Everyone making the 100 lap event will be paid $7.50/lap. The new twists come in that also you will be paid $25.00 for every car that you pass in the 100 lap event. The leader of the event will also get paid an extra $20.00/lap with a bonus lap payment at 1,10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90,and 100 of $100.00/lap. This should make for some great racing.

Conery Sports and BK Enterprises presented the week two action at the Norway Speedway, As Troy Nelson dominated the Pepsi Late Model A-feature, Marcus Bubloni held of his dad to win the Auto Value Super Stock A-feature, and Reggie Langtange and John Mattia won the 4 cylinder and Slammer feature events.

Craig Schei held fast time for Pepsi Late Models with a time of 14.77 an average speed of 81.2 mph. Auto Value Super Stock fast time went to Ron Jenshak with a time of 16.090 for an average speed of 74.580 mph.

Troy Nelson easily ran away from the Pepsi Late Model fast dash, and Marcus Bubloni did the same in the Auto Value Super Stock Dash, and John Mattia Jr held off Chuck Clark to win the Slammer dash.

Pepsi Late Model heat wins went to Fred Gignac, Bruce White, and Tom Lindquist. Chris Lassila won his first Auto Value Super Stock heat and Jesse Hedlund won the second heat.
